Speakflow leans toward teams and production workflows: shared workspaces, collaboration on scripts, and a Studio tier aimed at people running prompters for other speakers. If a producer scrolls while the talent reads, or your scripts pass through three reviewers before air, that tooling is genuinely useful and CameraPrompter doesn’t try to replicate it.
If you’re the person on camera, you’re paying for three things: reading while looking at the lens, a scroll that follows your voice, and a recorded take with no watermark. CameraPrompter Pro does all three for $12.99 a year — roughly a tenth of Speakflow Plus — and its free plan already covers the core prompter with cloud sync and no watermarks.
The camera overlay is the philosophical difference: CameraPrompter puts your own feed behind the words, so you watch yourself deliver the take you’ll post — framing, energy, and reading in one glance. You can crop the preview to vertical or square, zoom, and tuck the text into the corner nearest your lens. And voice scroll isn’t an upsell tier on top of an upsell tier; it’s just in Pro.
On calls, the gap widens. The CameraPrompter desktop app for Windows registers a virtual camera: Zoom, Teams, or Meet gets your clean video while the script runs full screen on your side. Speakflow, browser-only, can’t hand your camera to the call — you’re back to squeezing a window next to the webcam.
